Book Description:
Emma
Who I am and all I believe is marred with just one glance into angry, steel blue eyes. He seems to control my air, my ability to breathe. He makes me crave everything I know is a sin. Pure becomes tainted and lines are blurred. It's my fault; I'm the one who isn't strong enough. I've been damaged...broken. Breck's words haunt me...'There's a consequence for every choice you make.'
Breck
I've had so many women I can't even remember over half of their names, but none of them are mine; I make damn sure of that. I take what I desire and never look back. I don't need or want anyone, ever...not until I met Emma. Those eyes bore into what's left of my soul and her touch sears me, weakens me. I want to hate her for that. She is my ruin...my sweetest hell.
Disclaimer: Intended for readers 18+ due to strong language, mature scenes, and some violence.
MRP would like to extend a very warm welcome to Karen-Anne Stewart, author of Ash to Steele. Karen-Anne, to begin, can you tell us where you're from, and where/whom did your love for writing come from?
1. I’ve always loved
to read. My parents read to me before I
knew how to, so that was a huge inspiration in itself. It was in college that I was inspired to
become an author when I was assigned to write a short story. I fell in love the minute I started
writing.
If you were to be left alone on an island, what
three books would you take with you?
This is such a
tough question! If I can’t cheat and take my Kindle after making it solar
powered and pre-loaded with every book I can think of, I would take Great
Expectations, Shakespeare’s Complete works, and Beautiful Disaster.
What are your most and least favorite movie
genres?
My favorite movies
genres are romance, suspense, and comedy.
My least favorite type of movie would be horror.
If you could choose any man for your next book
cover, who would he be?
Chris
Hemsworth. He would be the perfect Gavin
for my upcoming novel featuring the sexy, badass bouncer from Ash to
Steele.
When you are on a deadline, what aspect of your
‘regular’ life suffers most?
My sanity! I try to be very organized so I can keep my
life as a mom, wife, day job worker, and author running smoothly, but that’s
easier said than done. Like everyone
these days, we juggle many things at once.
My free time is what suffers the most and I do miss when I can’t sit
down and just read, but it’s all worth it!
I’m loving this wild ride J.
What advice would you give aspiring authors?
Never give
up! There will be times when you feel
like you don’t know what in the hell you are doing and you will want to sit
down and cry…do it, but, then, get back up and keep going. The amazing times are so worth having to go
through the frustrating ones! The
writing community is extremely supportive, so don’t be afraid to ask
questions.
What advice would you give seasoned writers?
Please, keep
helping new authors. Your help meant
more to me than I could ever express. I’ve
fallen in love with writing and have been extremely impressed with all the
authors out there who are willing to help each other.
When reading for pleasure, do you prefer a
physical or electronic book?
I love all forms
of books, but I tend to reach for my Kindle first because there are so many
books already loaded and ready to go.
From the first stroke of a pen (or laptop), how
long did it take you get published?
With my debut
novel, Saving Rain, it took about 5 months to get published, but a few more
weeks before it went live. I’m an Indie
self-published author.
Did
you ever feel like calling it quits?
I’ve felt
overwhelmed at times but I’ve never wanted to stop writing. Now that I’ve started, I can’t see myself not
writing.
Thank you so much for joining us today, Karen-Anne. We really enjoyed the visit. Good luck and great sales with Ash to Steele.
