More Romance Please would like to extend a warm welcome to Becky Flade, author of Goddess of the Hunt. Let's get right to the questions!

Becky, if you were to be left alone on an island, what three books would you take with you?
Oh that’s easy – Fated Souls, Secretly Serviced and Goddess of the Hunt; and I’m completely full of BS. I’d take Remembrance by Jude Devereaux; First Aid for Dummies; and Swiss Family Robinson ;)

What are your most and least favorite movie genres?
I dislike documentaries. It’s not that I don’t enjoy learning because I do, but when I sit down to watch a movie I want to be entertained not lectured. I really like action movies and I’m not afraid to admit it. Big sexy macho guys, explosions, rocking soundtracks, car chases – Yippee ki-yay!

If you could choose any man for your next book cover, who would he be?
Sam Homan http://www.pinterest.com/pin/421227371368934185/ He is the IMAGE of the hero from my Monster WIP. More Sam http://www.flickriver.com/photos/tags/samhoman/interesting/ Isn’t he lovely?

When you are on a deadline, what aspect of your ‘regular’ life suffers most?
What doesn’t? I’m incredibly grateful to my fiancĂ© for picking up the slack; otherwise none of us would eat, wash wouldn’t get done, etc. He’s been a Godsend and without his support I wouldn’t have had the nerve to even try.

What advice would you give aspiring authors?
Never give up.

What advice would you give seasoned writers?
Never surrender.

When reading for pleasure, do you prefer a physical or electronic book?
I love both paper and electronic books. But there is absolutely nothing in the world like reading a physical book. Paper has a feel, a smell to it. You collect those books, put them on your shelf and when you see the binding or take one down to hold in your hand you remember the emotions the story inspired. That’s not something a Kindle can create.

Did you ever feel like calling it quits?
Only every day. I doubt my ability as a writer. I doubt my commitment. But writing isn’t a choice, it’s not like going to the gym, it’s like breathing. And when something is a part of you like that, you can’t let doubt take it from you. There’s a line in the movie Flashdance that I’ve always loved, “When you give up your dream, you die.” I believe that. So even if I suck, I’m won’t give up. I won’t surrender.

Thank you so much for joining us today, Becky. We really enjoyed the insights and inspiration. Good luck with Goddess of the Hunt.

Enjoy the following excerpt from Goddess of the Hunt:
“Is it done? Do you and the others in the house bring in sex partners from time to time?” She straightened and stared at him.
“Yes.” He hissed the answer.
“I’m travelling; you and I meet at a pub and go to your place to hook up. It’s simple and happens all the time. Believable, even.” She thought of Michel and her lips tilted at the corners. Then, casting her eyes over Eoin, she deliberately arched a brow and tucked her tongue in her cheek. “Well, for most people, anyway.”
His lips thinned and the muscles in his cheek ticked as he worked to control the flare of temper. It delighted her. “Fine, we’ll do it your way.” Eoin pushed himself from the chair he’d been perched on and nearly charged for the door. “I’ll be here at seven-thirty tomorrow morning, be ready.”
Paige grabbed his arm as he passed her. “What are you so worked up about? If it goes wrong, you can just leave me hanging and you know it. This costs you nothing, Paddy-boy; it’s my ass on the line.”
He grabbed her shirt and pushed her against the closet door. She didn’t fight it and he had his mouth on her in seconds. His tongue delved and demanded she respond; she arched up into the kiss. Delight, desire, and anger thrummed through her as she both succumbed and made demands of her own. His hands molded to her hips and pinned her between the hard planes of his body and the wall behind her. Then he abruptly pulled away. They stood inches apart; the air crackled around them. Their gazes locked. He opened his mouth, then shook his head and left without a word.
       Tie score.

There's a great plot line, an interesting twist to the story, and I think although it's not a cliffhanger you'll be left wanting more…Kinky Book Klub

Series Description:
The Legends of The Goldens Series is a collection of quirky urban-fantasy romances, about vampire good guys—psychic orbweavers who create, or weave together, real universes. They can shapeshift, telepath, teleport, heal—and make love, not war, with their fangs. Instinctively they rescue both humans and vampires, even when neither is too keen on being saved.

Book Description:
Part human. Part alien. Being superhuman doesn’t make them immune to love. Or to heartbreak.
Akeelah never asks to be different. She sure doesn't ask to be a hybrid. She doesn't want to be a psychic orbweaver like her people—able to create new worlds with only a thought.
She. Just. Wants. To. Be. A. Girl. More precisely, Saffron’s girl.
Saffron's her best friend, a hybrid like her—and hot. Being superhuman doesn’t make him immune to love. Or heartbreak. His one focus—Akeelah.
Coming into their powers and against the wishes of their android guardians, together Akeelah and Saffron practice their psychic skills.
Because of the dangers of orbweaving, the guardians they trust take Akeelah away, zap her memory.
Saffron can't live without Akeelah. All he wants is her memory restored, so she knows she's in love with him.
But trust is rare in a world full of deception, androids, and aliens—even when two people love each other.

Can Andrew forget about his self-centeredness long enough to gain Maggie’s trust, so he can save her from the vampire’s fangs, and, if he does, who will save her from his own?

Author Interview & Series Spotlight: Threads of Desire and Bounce by K.M. Jackson

Threads of Desire
by K.M. Jackson

About the Book:
Sexy fashionista Gabrielle Russell has been challenging Nick Ross most of his life and now is no exception. A top financial analyst, Nick has been dating his boss’s daughter and he’s on the fast track to turning his five-year marathon into a three-year sprint. But life throws him a curve when he finds his perfect girlfriend curled up in a very un-zen like position with her yoga instructor. Faced with this awkward downward dog, Nick heads to the only place he can think of - his brother Steve’s place - only to be stuck face to hips, thighs, lips, just about everything with his roommate, Gabby. She’s the habit Nick just can’t shake. The one that got away and she won’t let him forget it.
Gabrielle is frustrated. She’s been banging it out for years as a curvy girl trying to make her creative mark on the exclusive world of New York fashion and she’s hit a brick wall both personally and professionally. Now stuck in a dead end job designing jersey pantsuits for wannabe mafia wives while dodging the advances of her boss’s son, she doesn’t know how to get out of the hole she’s dug for herself. At least she has a bit of peace in the small apartment she shares with her childhood friend and roommate, Steve.
Or she did until Nick Ross - Mr. Perfection and her own devastation, the one who broke her heart and almost broke her spirit - walked in. And now he’s back and looking for a place to camp out while he gets his life back on track. Well, she’s got news for him: She’s not the same girl she was all those years ago when just a look would send her heart stuttering. Okay, maybe she is, but now maybe it’s time the tables were turned on the unflappable Nick Ross.

Bounce
by K.M.Jackson

About the Book:
Growing up as a young girl, Sabrina Jacobs could only dream her life would be this good. She has a successful career, a famous sexy husband, two children, a house in an affluent Westchester suburb and a shoe collection worthy of a magazine spread. Too bad it’s all a façade.
It has been almost a year since her husband admitted he had an affair with a younger and bouncier coworker. Follow Sabrina as she tries to rein in her out-of-control life by kicking her husband out on his rear, chucking her career and even firing her too-cute-for-the-job nanny. But how will she survive as a stay-at-home mom in the land of designer clothes, designer kids’ parties and designer babies? Hmm… maybe the hunky young French teacher, who has been flirting shamelessly with Sabrina, is just what she needs to take her mind off her problems. Well, not if her husband has something to say about it. Will Sabrina be able to forgive and still be true to herself?

More Romance Please would like to extend a warm welcome to K.M. Jackson, author of Threads of Desire and Bounce.
K.M., first, please tell us who or what most influenced you to become a writer?
Thanks so much for having me here today on More Romance Please. I have loved romance since I was 12 and first picked up one of Grandmother’s Harlequin romances. Always being an “in my head” dreamer I think it was an inevitable thing that at some point these musings would find their way out. When I left the fashion world and became a stay at home mother, I took that as my chance.
2.   If you were to be left alone on an island, what three books would you take with you?
Really? It’s a good thing I only have 2 children with a choice like this. LOL. I guess I’d take the 3 biggest books I could find that would take me the longest to read until my rescue boat came along.
3.   If you could choose any man for your next book cover, who would he be?
This is a hard one. There are so many hot guy cover that sometimes they start to blend so in order to stand out you have to have a really good one. I’m in love with the non-guy cover of my book BOUNCE. The pristine bed left so much up the in imagination and really spoke to the storyline.
But that said I’m not putting down the lure of a handsome face or a darned good chest. I also adore the cover of my latest book in my Crimson series: THREADS OF DESIRE. You can’t deny those abs. And if I could have my dream male cover or covers it would be a three part series with part 1: Idris Elba, part 2: Leonardo DiCaprio and part 3: Joe Manganiello. Hello! Instant best sellers! LOL
4.   When you are on a deadline, what aspect of your ‘regular’ life suffers most?
Hands down cooking and housework but if you ask my family I was never winning any Domestic Goddess of the year awards anyway.
5.   What advice would you give aspiring authors?
I would tell the aspiring writer to not give up. The tale of my “overnight success” took over ten years. I say keep writing and working on your craft. It’s true that no writing is wasted writing. Over time you change and get better. Join critique groups. Take classes and read, read, read!
6.   What advice would you give seasoned writers?
The advice is similar to the aspiring writer. Continue to work on your craft too. I think I get better with every book and I know for myself I still have so much more room to grow. Take classes, read and work on your craft. I love it when I read a book by an amazing author. It’s always inspiring to me.
7.   When reading for pleasure, do you prefer a physical or electronic book?
I am a huge paper book fan and never thought I’d love e-books as much as I do but I have since come to learn that there is nothing like having so many books right at your fingertips especially when you are out and on the road. I have come to adore my Kindle Paperwhite.
8.   Did you ever feel like calling it quits?
Oh gosh more times than I care to count and I could smile and pretend to be all confident on your blog here today, but I’m not that type of person. I’m a writer, an artist, a person who spends a better part of her life putting emotion on the page. Now four books published but that really doesn’t matter all that much. The morning still comes and I faire up my laptop and face the blank page with the same doubts as the first day. It just is what it is. So the thought of quitting is always there, but thankfully so are the new ideas and they are much stronger than the thoughts of giving up.
Thanks so much for having me on More Romance Please. I really enjoyed being here it was a great treat. And yes… MORE ROMANCE PLEASE!

Thank you so much for joining us today, K.M. We really enjoyed the insights. Good luck with Threads of Desire and Bounce

Love's Destiny
Book 1
Elizabeth Meyette

Publisher: Crimson Romance
Genre: Historical

About the Book:
The simmering rebellion in the American colonies is the backdrop for this smoldering romance.  When Jonathon Brentwood, captain of the Destiny and committed patriot, comes into the life of Emily Wentworth, a young English woman, divided loyalties and desire to honor a father’s dying wish cannot hold their passion at bay. But their pasts and the future of a young country stand in the way of their destiny.

Our Rating:

Our Review:
Love’s Destiny is a compelling read. The characters are clearly drawn and complex, and the journey we’re taken on is rich in history, as well as insight. Pain, delight, understanding or lack thereof, attraction, sorrow, deceit, passion, evil, and of course, abiding love – it’s all there and wonderfully portrayed. Elizabeth Meyette did a terrific job painting an era and its stresses, while bringing together two people the reader comes to care about deeply. Well done.

Love's Spirit
Book Two
by Elizabeth Meyette

Publisher: Crimson Romance
Genre: Historical

About the Book:

As the Revolutionary War breaks out the story of  Jonathon and Emily continues. Both face danger: Jonathon from the British who want to hang him for treason, and Emily from the woman whose love for Jonathon has driven her mad. While the impending birth of their baby is cause for celebration, threats from the British and from evil lurking at Brentwood Manor present obstacles to their love.

Our Rating:

Our Review:
The heartwarming love story that began with Love’s Destiny continues its rich historical narrative in Love’s Spirit. Emily and Jonathan are a beautifully matched pair, and the tenderness they share is compelling . . . but can they overcome danger, conspiracy and evil at every turn?? This story is by turns soft and sweet, then heartbreakingly dangerous and fast-paced. It has something (quite a lot actually) for everyone, and shouldn’t be missed. Well done.

About the Author:

Poet, blogger and believer in dreams-come-true, Elizabeth Meyette’s journey has taken her through a career in education to a career in writing. Elizabeth put her first novel, Love’s Destiny on the shelf for 30 years while she taught English, Journalism and Library Science/Technology.
Upon retiring from teaching, she dusted off Love’s Destiny, polished it and submitted it to Crimson Romance, who published it in June 2012. Unlike her first novel, the sequel, Love’s Spirit took only seven months from inception to submission, and was published in April 2013.To coin a friend’s phrase, she didn’t retire, she “refired” and loves her second career as a writer. Her latest novel, The Cavanaugh House, is a mystery.  She has also published poems and freelance articles. Elizabeth’s current projects include a play, a chapbook of poetry and children’s books.
Elizabeth and her husband Richard live in the Great Lakes Bay area of Michigan. They made an agreement that she cannot cook on writing days after he endured burnt broccoli and overcooked chicken.  Fortunately, Richard is an excellent cook. Elizabeth becomes so absorbed in her writing, crying at the sorrows of her characters, rejoicing in their triumphs, that she laughingly describes herself as a “snapdragon” at interruptions, “not like the pretty flower, but like a dragon that snaps.”

The Heart Teaches Best
By M.J. Schiller

About the Book:
Cooper Sullivan is the cop in charge of investigating a murder outside of a Los Angeles night club.  The famous romance author, Sydney Essex, has been found strangled in the parking lot.  When the young officer returns to the scene of the crime the night after the murder, he gets involved in a fight in order to protect a woman, who he realizes afterward, is the victim’s sister.  Soon he finds himself torn by his attraction to the irresistible blond teacher, and his need to maintain a professional distance.
Laney Essex is distraught over her sister’s death, so the high school English teacher returns to the bar where the crime occurred to find answers.  To her dismay, she is only left with more questions, many centered on her developing relationship with Cooper Sullivan.  Is the pull she’s feeling towards him reciprocated, or is the handsome detective only showing her professional courtesy, or, perhaps, even pity?
When Laney receives a threatening phone call from Sydney’s murderer, it quickly becomes evident that the man who killed her sister is after her, too!  Can Cooper figure out who the killer is before it’s too late?  And if he does solve the case, will it just be another file stamped “CLOSED” in red and locked away in a drawer, or will the sparks that have been flying between the two finally ignite?

AmazonBarnes and NobleKobo

Our Review:
This story is by turns, heartrending and heartwarming, and well worth the read. Laney Essex, a teacher, and Cooper Sullivan, a homicide detective, are thrown together when her sister is brutally murdered. Their bond grows tighter when it becomes clear Laney may be a target, as well. I felt I knew and liked these two from the outset (a testament to the author’s skills), and that feeling never wavered. The writing is as strong as both the relationship and the tension MJ builds, which is more than enough to keep the reader engaged and invested right up to the happy ending. Well done.
-Cary Morgan Frates

About the Author:
MJ is a lunch lady in the heart of Central Illinois. My gosh, can you get more folksy than that? She met her husband at the University of Missouri-Columbia and now she has an nineteen-year-old (how did that happen?) and seventeen year old triplets! She loves to read, karaoke (where she can pretend she is a rock star) and spends WAY too much time on Facebook. She grew up in St. Louis and still has family there.
